exhibits illuminates key areas of science and serves as a guide to our
planet and window to culture.
The Museum offers thrilling space shows at the Hayden Planetarium,
spectacular IMAX films and award-winning special exhibits. Please note

Cradle of Aviation Museum
The history of aviation, the history of Long
Island and the history of the United States became intimately entwined
with the dawn of flight. From the early days Long Island has played a
very important role in the development and growth of aviation and
aerospace. Guggenheim Museum
The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, is
home to one of the world's finest collections of Modern and contemporary
art. The distinctive exhibits and permanent collection underline the
mission
of the Guggenheim is to promote
the understanding and appreciation of art, architecture and other
manifestations of contemporary visual culture. Intrepid-Sea, Air & Space Museum
One of the most successful battle ships in US History, the Intrepid is a
national historic landmark and one of the most unique attractions in New
York City. In 1943, the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier was commissioned
for service in World War II and went on to serve as a primary recovery
vessel for NASA and then in Vietnam. Today the museum features a range
of interactive exhibits and events that make Intrepid a snapshot of
heroism, education, and excitement.
While here, you can also ride in the A-6 Cockpit Simulator, visit the
Virtual Flight Zone, or tour the inside of the world's fastest
commercial airplane, the Concorde.
Long Island Children's Museum
Long Island Children's Museum is a learning laboratory where hands-on
exhibits invite visitors to experiment, examine and play. Through lively
interdisciplinary activities, children and adults can share in the
excitement of the learning process as they explore the world in which we
live. The museum is designed for infants through 12 and their grownups.
The Nassau County Firefighters Museum
The Nassau County
Firefighters Museum and Education Center is a nearly 10,000 square foot
interactive facility where visitors can experience first-hand the proud
tradition of firefighting in our communities. People of all ages
will enjoy the interactive gallery that is as informative as it is

and much more! It's an opportunity to learn how to protect yourself,
your family and their property from fires, burns and other common
household hazards. The New York Botanical Garden
This pass expires October 31, 2009 and will not be renewed
Founded in 1891 by botanist Nathaniel Lord Britton, the New York
Botanical Garden (NYBG) is today a National Historic Landmark and one of
the world's outstanding horticultural and educational resources. This
250-acre verdant oasis offers twenty-seven outdoor gardens to stroll,
ranging from rose to rock to rhododendron.
The jewel of this horticultural
haven is the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, the country's largest Victorian
crystal palace, filled with the fragrance of exotic and unusual tropical
and desert plants from around the world.
Old Westbury Gardens
Old Westbury Gardens is a magnificent example of the finest in period
landscape design and architecture in America. Completed in 1906 by the
English designer George A. Crawley, Old Westbury Gardens is the former
home of John S. Phipps and his wife, Margarita Grace Phipps. The Charles
II-style mansion is nestled amid 160 acres of formal gardens, landscaped
grounds, woodlands, ponds and lakes. Guests are invited to tour the
house and stroll the gardens at their leisure, Old Westbury Gardens
Volunteers provide daily tours of Westbury House on the hour and the
half-hour, and of the gardens at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. Guided
tours last approximately 45 minutes.
