To all our Patrons:
We are pleased to report
that we are making great
progress
towards
re-opening the Library.
The carpet has been
delivered ahead of
schedule
and is
currently being
installed. Once
the installation is
complete, the Library
will be
able to
commence the process of
putting in the shelves
and re-shelving the
books.
Due to the
strides we have made in
the construction, all
Library employees
are
now able to work from
the Library as they
assist in the re-opening
efforts.
We
would like to extend our
sincere gratitude to the
Nassau Library System
(NLS)
for providing
the Library with an
interim facility from
which to work until
our employees were able
to return to the
Library.
We will continue to
issue updates regarding
our progress and are
very much
looking
forward to re-opening
the Library's doors to
the community soon.
A few items to note:
We are not able to
process return items at
this time.
o
Return dates on all
circulating items have
been extended to May 31,
2013.
o
You can return Island
Park Library items to
any library in Nassau
County or you can hold
on to the items until we
reopen our doors.
Please do not leave
donations outside the
building.
o
We are not in a
position to process
additional books at this
time.
o
When we complete the
assessment of our
collection we will
better determine what
items have been lost and
proceed to replace the
items by title.

LIBRARY
UPDATE
- Patrons who wish to
check-out or reserve books can do so at the Oceanside
Library.
- The Oceanside Library will
be your pick-up location until we re-open.
- The due date for items
checked out prior to Sandy is now extended to July 1, 2013.
- Library Cards due to expire
between October 29 & December 31 will now expire Aug 1, 2013.
We thank the Oceanside Library and
the Levittown Library for being so gracious and we look
forward to coming back and seeing you all again soon!
